A few days ago, Irrfan Khan lost his mother and couldn't attend her funeral due to the lockdown. Yesterday, news surfaced on the internet that the actor himself was admitted to the hospital due to colon infection. And today, a heartbreaking piece of news shocked everyone as a tweet by filmmaker Shoojit Sircar confirmed that the actor left for the heavenly abode. 

Shoojit Sircar's tweet read, "My dear friend Irfaan. You fought and fought and fought. I will always be proud of you.. we shall meet again.. condolences to Sutapa and Babil.. you too fought, Sutapa you gave everything possible in this fight. Peace and Om shanti. Irfaan Khan salute."
